1. Our pledge
ORÆ is a research and design project that takes its values literally — they
are constraints, not slogans. We pledge a collaboration space that is
honest, contestable, and free of coercion, regardless of
seniority, discipline, or origin.
2. Expected behaviour
- Argue with the strongest version of someone's idea, not the weakest.
- Disclose conflicts of interest before contributing.
- Credit sources, references and earlier thinking.
- Surface disagreement openly — silent withdrawal hurts the draft.
- Respect the project's stage. Don't claim ORÆ does what it does not.
3. Unacceptable behaviour
- Harassment, intimidation, or personal attacks — in any forum, public or private.
- Discrimination on the basis of any protected characteristic.
- Misrepresenting ORÆ as an operational AGI, product, or company.
- Using ORÆ materials for manipulation, coercion, or unsafe deployment scenarios.
- Doxxing — including the stewards, whose pseudonymity is a project decision.
4. Refusal zones
The governance section names them, the code of conduct enforces them. ORÆ
will not knowingly support work whose purpose is to coerce, surveil at scale
without consent, automate destructive action, or evade audit. Contributors who
knowingly direct ORÆ resources toward such ends step outside the project.
5. Reporting
If you witness or experience behaviour outside this code, contact us through
the contact form
and mark your message "Code-of-conduct report". Reports are
reviewed in confidence by the stewardship. Retaliation against reporters is
itself a violation.
6. Enforcement
Stewards may, after review and proportional to severity: ask for a correction,
pause a collaboration, withdraw access to ORÆ materials, or remove a
contributor from the project. Decisions and their reasons are logged
internally and, where appropriate, summarised in the
public log.
